Partido Republicano rebrands in Colombia with María Fernanda Cabal
The Liga de Gobernantes Anticorrupción (LIGA) has officially rebranded as the Partido Republicano following approval from the National Electoral Council (CNE). The movement, which originated around the 2022 presidential candidacy of the late Rodolfo Hernández, has adopted a new visual identity featuring a golden eagle on a dark blue background.
Former Senator María Fernanda Cabal has officially joined the party, becoming its first prominent member in this new phase after leaving the Centro Democrático. During an event in Bucaramanga, Cabal stated she intends to use the platform to promote a “new right” focused on combating crime, managing state resources responsibly, and defending private enterprise, individual liberty, and the family.
Senator Jonathan Pulido Hernández, known as ‘Jota Pe’, was also involved in the launch. The party aims to position itself as a hard-right political force ahead of the 2027 territorial elections and the 2030 presidential elections, focusing on building structures within various regions through the involvement of business leaders and merchants.
