FK Partizan in crisis after European qualification threat and IMT defeat

The board of FK Partizan announced that its members would resign if the club fails to reach the UEFA Conference League group stage. In response, a group of former players issued the “Apel za spas Partizana,” accusing the current administration of lacking a concrete recovery plan and urging decisive action.

President Rasim Ljajić confirmed that the club stands by its resignation pledge and highlighted the upcoming European draw, where a win over Tobol would pit Partizan against Spanish side Hetafe in the play‑offs – a daunting obstacle. The draw also underscored the financial importance of qualifying for the competition.

On the domestic front, Partizan suffered a 2‑1 loss to IMT in the third round of the Serbian SuperLiga, playing most of the match with ten men after a red card in the 14th minute. Coach Saša Ilić described the defeat as a serious problem, pointing to the team's youth and lack of experience, while fans expressed anger and demanded changes.

Overall, the club faces mounting pressure from former players, its own leadership, and supporters as it strives to secure European football and stabilize its sporting performance.
