Partizan seeks solution for Jabari Parker contract dispute
The contract dispute between basketball player Jabari Parker and Partizan Belgrade remains unresolved. Although the former NBA second-round pick is under contract with the club, he is not part of coach Joan Penaroja’s plans for the upcoming season.
Parker is currently training individually in Belgrade under the supervision of assistant coaches. The primary obstacle to a separation is his guaranteed two-year contract, valued at approximately $5 million gross, which lacks an exit clause. If Partizan were to terminate the agreement unilaterally, the club would be required to pay the full amount.
To resolve the situation, Partizan is searching for another club willing to take over all or part of Parker’s financial obligations. While the club previously managed a similar situation with Juventud, Parker is reportedly unwilling to waive the money guaranteed by his contract, leading to a stalemate.
