Partizan supporter severely injured in targeted Belgrade Arena ambush

Nikola Jovanović, a Partizan supporter, was severely injured in a targeted ambush outside the Belgrade Arena following an EuroLeague game on Friday, September 25. According to reports, a group of approximately ten large men dressed in black attacked Jovanović as he was leaving the venue.

The assault resulted in serious injuries, including a broken finger and two cracked ribs. Jovanović required emergency surgery after his spleen was removed due to the risk of internal bleeding. Witnesses and the victim suggest the attack was premeditated, noting that the assailants shouted slogans regarding Ratko Mladić during the beating.

Jovanović indicated the motive may be linked to his social media posts on X (formerly Twitter) regarding Mladić. Witnesses described the event as a classic ambush, with some suggesting the attackers may have emerged from the fan sections within the arena. Authorities have been contacted for confirmation and to determine if the perpetrators have been identified.
