Partizan to sign Santa Clara captain Sidney Lima

Partizan is set to strengthen its defense with the arrival of Brazilian center-back Sidney Lima. The 29-year-old, who has served as captain for the Portuguese club Santa Clara, is expected to arrive in Belgrade for medical examinations this Thursday.

Lima joins the Serbian side on a loan deal, with Partizan holding an option to purchase his contract for 500,000 euros at the end of the loan period. The move aims to address defensive vulnerabilities that have seen the team concede ten goals in their first six SuperLiga matches.

Standing at 185 cm, Lima brings significant experience from the Portuguese Primeira Liga, having played over 100 matches for Santa Clara. He is noted for his physical strength, aerial ability, and leadership qualities, which coach Saša Ilić seeks to stabilize a backline that has struggled against domestic and international opponents.
