Partnership for Pohorje commits to Pohorje – Kozjak Trail development
More than 70 partners and stakeholders of the Partnership for Pohorje have reaffirmed their commitment to the joint development of the Pohorje and Kozjak regions during a development conference in Maribor.
Following seven years of cooperation, future activities will focus on enhancing hiking and cycling infrastructure, developing sports tourism, and creating year-round outdoor products with a focus on environmental responsibility. A central component of this strategy is the Pohorje – Kozjak Trail, which aims to connect the Carinthia (Koroška), Styria (Štajerska), and Savinja (Savinjska) regions.
Aleksander Saša Arsenovič, Mayor of Maribor and President of the Partnership for Pohorje, emphasized that connecting these regions is essential to creating an internationally recognizable outdoor product. Nataša Ritonija, Director of the Regional Development Agency for Podravje – Maribor, presented a vision for the trail to serve as a primary connecting element that transcends individual municipalities and projects.
