Parul Chaudhary targets triple event success at Asian Games

Indian long-distance runner Parul Chaudhary has expressed confidence ahead of the upcoming Asian Games in Japan, where she plans to compete in three separate events. Following her double gold medal performance in the 3000m steeplechase and 5000m at the previous games in Hangzhou, Chaudhary will add the 1500m race to her competition schedule.

Chaudhary acknowledged the difficulty of competing in three events over three consecutive days but stated she is managing the challenge through adaptive training at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre of Excellence. She noted the importance of preparing for Japan's specific weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain.

Despite recent performances at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, where she finished fifth in the steeplechase and 15th in the 5000m, the 31-year-old athlete remains focused on securing more medals for India, citing strong competition from athletes in Japan and Bahrain.
