Pasadena man arrested after crashing into police vehicles
A 32-year-old Pasadena man, Keith Trevon Anderson, was arrested after a pursuit and confrontation with police in a parking lot on Oakland Avenue. The incident began when officers attempted to stop Anderson’s vehicle in connection with an assault-with-a-deadly-weapon investigation.
During the encounter, Anderson allegedly backed his vehicle into two Pasadena police vehicles, resulting in an injury to one officer. An officer-involved shooting occurred during the incident, though authorities stated that no officers, suspects, or members of the public were struck by gunfire. After Anderson refused commands to exit the vehicle, a police K-9 was deployed to take him into custody.
The injured officer was treated at a hospital and released. Anderson was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. A passenger in the vehicle was also treated for minor abrasions and subsequently arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant for assault with a deadly weapon. A loaded handgun was recovered from the vehicle, and the investigation remains active.
