Pasadena residents shaken by teen livestreamed shooting
Residents in Pasadena, Texas, were shaken after a group of teenagers allegedly discharged a firearm near Parklane Park during a social media livestream. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Pasadena High School.
Witnesses reported seeing two teenagers, estimated to be approximately 15 years old, exit a vehicle and fire multiple shots. The individuals were reportedly using a camera equipped with bright lighting to record the act for online content.
Rania Mankarious, CEO of Crime Stoppers, noted that the pursuit of online validation and ‘likes’ is driving minors to commit serious felony offenses. She emphasized the need for increased monitoring of youth content and better oversight regarding access to firearms.
