Pasaman Barat police name five suspects in disability rape case

Police in Pasaman Barat, West Sumatra, have named five suspects in the alleged gang rape of a woman with an intellectual disability in Air Bangis. The incident reportedly occurred between August 15 and August 19, 2026.

According to Pasaman Barat Police Chief AKBP Agung Tribawanto, the suspects allegedly took turns sexually assaulting the victim. Authorities also suspect the perpetrators provided the victim with narcotics, including methamphetamine and marijuana, to render her helpless during the crime.

The five suspects, identified by their initials A (29), AA (31), YA (26), AP (23), and N (30), have been detained at the Pasaman Barat Police detention center. Police have seized various pieces of evidence, including clothing and drug paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to prosecute the case under relevant criminal laws.
