Pascal Obispo’s Cap Ferret home threatened by July 2026 wildfires

French singer‑songwriter Pascal Obispo has lived year‑round on the Cap Ferret peninsula of the Arcachon basin since purchasing an old holiday centre in 2004. The 1.4‑hectare property includes a studio, a pool, a tennis court and a paddock among the pine woods that surround his house.

In late July 2026 the area was hit by a series of forest fires that swept parts of the Gironde department. Local authorities issued an evacuation order for the commune of Lège‑Cap‑Ferret on 28 July, warning residents and visitors not to return while the blaze continued. The smoke and flames reached the pine groves near Obispo’s estate, prompting concerns for his home and studio.

Obispo has described Cap Ferret as his artistic refuge, a place where he writes, paints and records. The fire danger highlights the growing risk to the coastal pine landscape that has shaped his career and personal life.
