Persib Bandung Overhauls Squad, Releases Nine Players and Signs French Defender Mutombo
Persib Bandung announced a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2026/27 season. The club confirmed the permanent departure of nine players, including defenders Rezaldi Hehanusa, Zalnando, Federico Barba, Layvin Kurzawa, Adam Przybek, and forwards Sergio Castel and Alfeandra Dewangga, as well as goalkeeper Adam Przybek. Mid‑fielder Zulkifli Lukmansyah was sent on loan to gain playing time.
To reinforce the defense, Persib signed French centre‑back Gabriel Mutombo Kupa, the club’s first foreign signing of the transfer window. Mutombo, 30, arrives from Thai side Ratchaburi FC on a one‑year contract and is expected to replace the outgoing Barba.
The club’s transfer activity also includes the return of former striker Ciro Alves, who trained briefly at the Si Jalak Harupat stadium, fueling fan speculation about a possible comeback. Additionally, rumors persist that Argentine winger Mariano Peralta could join Persib, though no official confirmation has been made.
