Pascal Wehrlein wins second Formula E title amid London finale drama

Pascal Wehrlein has secured his second ABB FIA Formula E World Championship title following a highly dramatic season finale at the London E-Prix. Despite finishing 14th in the final race and receiving a five-second penalty for contact with Joel Eriksson, the Porsche driver maintained a sufficient points lead to clinch the championship.

The race was marked by intense competition and controversy. Wehrlein faced significant pressure from title rivals Mitch Evans and Jake Dennis. Tensions flared as Wehrlein accused Jaguar driver Antonio Felix da Costa of unsportsmanlike driving intended to aid Evans. Meanwhile, Dennis’s championship hopes were ended after he suffered terminal damage following a collision during the race.

In the race itself, Taylor Barnard of DS PENSKE made history by becoming the youngest-ever Formula E race winner at 22 years old. Barnard secured his maiden victory in what was also DS Automobiles’ final appearance in the series. While Porsche secured the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles, Jaguar TCS Racing successfully defended its Teams' World Championship.
