Paseo del Norte commercial complex eyes November opening

The historic Mercado del Norte in San Miguel de Tucumán is expected to reopen in November as a modernized commercial and gastronomic complex named Paseo del Norte. Following several delays, renovation works have entered the stage of conditioning commercial spaces, while tenants begin installing their businesses.

The project will feature between 80 and 100 premises, with approximately 70% already leased. The upper floor is designed to host a gastronomic patio including pizzerias, sandwich shops, and ice cream parlors, alongside a cultural center, children's play areas, and a large department store. The ground floor will primarily accommodate clothing stores, optical shops, home goods retailers, and cafes.

Agostina Rivera Budeguer, an architect and member of the commercial area for Paseo del Norte S.A., stated that while November is the target month, a specific date has not been confirmed due to the large scale of the project. The development aims to preserve the original structure of the market while integrating modern thermal and acoustic conditioning.
