PASKAU divers perform historic giant flag display in Kuantan

During the 2026 Pahang state-level National Day celebrations in Kuantan, 18 PASKAU (Royal Malaysian Air Force Special Air Service) divers performed a historic aerial display. The team, led by Colonel Muhammad Mustafa Omar, jumped from a height of 6,000 feet using two AW139 helicopters from the No. 3 Squadron.

The highlight of the event involved a giant Jalur Gemilang flag, measuring 4 by 6 meters and weighing eight kilograms. The flag was deployed at an altitude of approximately 4,000 feet and was briefly joined in mid-air at 1,000 feet before being separated for individual safe landings. This feat is expected to be recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records (MBOR).

The event, held at the Kuantan City Council (MBK) 4 field, was attended by over 20,000 spectators and included a flypast by six Sukhoi Su-30MKM fighter jets from the No. 12 Squadron.
