PASOK criticizes Mitsotakis and Tsipras over political standards

Kostas Tsoukalas, spokesperson for PASOK, criticized both Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Alexis Tsipras, stating they are “setting the bar very low for the country.” In an interview with SKAI, Tsoukalas argued that the narrative of Tsipras as a dynamic opposition leader has collapsed following his recent appearance in Thessaloniki.

Tsoukalas further accused the Greek Left Solidarity (ELAS) party of copying PASOK’s platform on issues such as energy, housing, and cost of living, while simultaneously adopting New Democracy’s positions on matters like “red loans.” He noted that ELAS lacks a strong social focus, failing to include protections for primary residences, the right of choice, or a 13th month salary and pension.

Additionally, Tsoukalas highlighted contradictions in Tsipras’s stance regarding the Golden Visa program. He noted that while ELAS recently proposed redirecting approximately one billion euros annually from Golden Visa revenues to the National Convergence Fund, Tsipras had previously advocated for the total abolition of the program only a month and a half prior.
