PASOK criticizes Mitsotakis over 25% leadership threshold

PASOK spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas has criticized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, claiming that by setting a 25% threshold for leadership legitimacy, the Prime Minister is effectively admitting defeat and preparing for a potential exit. Tsoukalas argued that this move is an attempt to manage expectations ahead of negative polling results and to negotiate with internal party factions.

Tsoukalas further asserted that 75% of society no longer supports New Democracy or Mitsotakis, suggesting that PASOK is positioned to fill the political vacuum left in 2023 and take a leading role in upcoming elections. The spokesperson also accused the Hellenic Statistical Authority (EL.A.S.) of bias against PASOK regarding recent polling data and criticized the government's handling of fuel prices and the lack of measures to address cost-of-living issues.
