PASOK demands answers from Greek Minister regarding Thessaloniki police response

The PASOK political party has issued a joint statement demanding immediate answers from Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis regarding the police handling of an anti-fascist demonstration in Thessaloniki. The protest was organized in opposition to an event involving convicted individual Ilias Kasidiaris.

PASOK representatives, including Giorgos Moulkiotis, reported that peaceful protesters and labor unions faced heavy police presence, the use of chemical agents, and detentions. While the party condemned violence committed by masked groups, they emphasized that such actions should not serve as a pretext for disproportionate police force against peaceful demonstrators. The party is questioning the operational decisions and the necessity of the force used during the incident.
