PASOK-KINAL criticizes government over hospitality sector pressures

Evangelia Liakouli, representing PASOK-KINAL, addressed the challenges facing the hospitality sector during a debate in Larissa. She highlighted the critical role of hospitality in regional development and its connection to tourism and employment.

Liakouli criticized the current government, noting that businesses in Thessaly and Larissa are struggling with high operating and tax costs, rising energy prices, and a shortage of specialized personnel. She pointed to the significant burden of private debt and social security obligations, suggesting that small businesses require a second chance through solutions such as 120 installments for public debts.

To address the labor shortage, she called for incentives including better wages and stable working conditions. Additionally, she advocated for the reduction and rationalization of VAT to combat rising prices and support the industry.
