PASOK leaders call for political change in Greece
PASOK leadership and members are emphasizing the necessity of political change in Greece, positioning the party as the primary alternative to the ruling New Democracy.
PASOK President Nikos Androulakis stated that social change can only be achieved with PASOK as the leading party and New Democracy in the opposition. He highlighted the party's program regarding the economy, the cost of living, a new productive model, and demographic issues. Androulakis noted that protest parties or 'one man show' parties will not succeed in defeating New Democracy.
MP Michalis Katrinis also underscored the need for a progressive government led by PASOK. He addressed strategic national issues, including the Greece-Cyprus electrical interconnection, which he described as having significant geopolitical importance. Katrinis criticized current government policies regarding inflation and household pressure, proposing measures such as controlling monopolies, taxing excess profits, and strengthening the domestic defense industry. He explicitly rejected any post-election cooperation with New Democracy, stating that PASOK will not serve as a 'lifeline' for the current government.
