PASOK officials criticize Greek government on healthcare and fuel taxes

PASOK representatives are intensifying their criticism of the New Democracy government, focusing on healthcare oversight and economic policy. Kostas Tsoukalas, PASOK spokesperson, highlighted a perceived lack of control within healthcare structures following the death of Giorgos Mazonakis. He called for transparency regarding inspections conducted by the National Transparency Authority and questioned the government's management of the sector over the last seven years.

Tsoukalas also noted recent polling trends, suggesting that qualitative improvements in the party's image—following Nikos Androulakis's performance at the World Economic Forum—are precursors to shifts in voter intention. He asserted that PASOK possesses the necessary leadership and plans to drive political change.

Additionally, PASOK parliamentary spokesperson Pavlos Christidis accused the government of being untruthful regarding fuel taxes. He argued that the administration could have reduced the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) on fuel without requiring European Union approval, noting that several other European nations have done so. Christidis also outlined PASOK's economic platform, which includes proposals for a 13th month salary and pension.
