PASOK raises questions regarding Hellenic Defense Systems partnerships
PASOK MP Michalis Katrinis has submitted a parliamentary question to the Ministers of National Economy and National Defense seeking clarification on the roles of individuals and companies collaborating with Hellenic Defense Systems (EAS).
The inquiry follows a Ministry of National Defense announcement regarding a visit by representatives of the Czechoslovak Group to the General Staff. The questioning highlights that Emmanouil Dimitriadis was identified as the president of ‘CGS Greece,’ despite no company by that name being found in the General Commercial Registry as of October 20.
Concerns were raised regarding the Czechoslovak Group’s 49% stake in the ‘Hellenic Ammunition’ joint venture, which is linked to a 25-year cooperation with EAS. Additionally, the inquiry references previous collaborations between EAS and the Cypriot firm MI. MA., involving the modernization of BMP-1 vehicles and ammunition programs. The MP also requested information regarding allegations from the EAS Lavrio employees' union concerning the distribution of funds outside of standard payroll in 2024.
