PASOK organizes commemorative events to honor historical legacy

The PASOK political party is organizing two major commemorative events aimed at reconnecting with its historical roots and grassroots base. Under the leadership of Nikos Androulakis, the party is drawing heavy inspiration from the legacy of Andreas Papandreou to shape its pre-election orientation.

The first event commemorates the party's founding anniversary on September 3rd, featuring readings of the founding declaration. The second major event is scheduled for October 18th in Peristeri to mark the 45th anniversary of the 1981 election victory, known as the era of ‘Change’. This celebration is expected to include a concert featuring artist Christos Nikolopoulos.

Observers note that these moves represent an attempt to strengthen ties with the working classes and reinforce the party's presence in the Athens metropolitan area. However, some analyses suggest that focusing heavily on historical symbols may reflect a lack of modern political planning or a tendency to rely on nostalgia rather than future-oriented policy.
