Italian towns hold traditional patron saint festivals

Various Italian municipalities are holding traditional religious festivals and patron saint celebrations.

In Corato, the feast of San Cataldo features a significant procession with a silver bust from 1770 and musical performances. Similarly, Giarratana is preparing for its San Bartolomeo festivities, including an infiorata and liturgical services.

In Lipari, the celebration of San Bartolomeo is marked by the centenary return of the Vascelluzzo di Messina, a precious silver reliquary. In Ronciglione, the community will celebrate with the historic procession of the ‘Macchina di San Bartolomeo’, a tradition dating back to 1793.

Other regional events include the installation of a new director at the Oratorio Don Bosco, the presentation of the Cuore d’Oro 2026 awards in Latiano, and the upcoming Sant’Elena festival in Quartu, which will feature a twinning ceremony with Malta.
