Pasquale Pepe visits Palazzo San Gervasio repatriation center

Pasquale Pepe, Vice President of the Basilicata Region, visited the Repatriation Center (CPR) in Palazzo San Gervasio to meet with law enforcement and armed forces personnel. During the visit, Pepe expressed gratitude to the officers working in the complex environment of the facility.

Pepe also addressed the recent death of a 30-year-old Tunisian man at the center, who reportedly took his own life. He offered condolences to the family and stated that the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Potenza is conducting investigations to reconstruct the circumstances of the event.

Regarding the repatriation system, Pepe argued that while the centers serve a necessary function, the process needs improvement. He called for making repatriation procedures faster and more frequent to enhance national security while simultaneously protecting the dignity and rights of those awaiting return.
