PASS Foundation concludes gender-based violence response project in Aden
The PASS Foundation (Peace for Sustainable Societies) has concluded the first phase of a project aimed at strengthening institutional responses to gender-based violence in Aden. The project was conducted in partnership with Oxfam and funded by the European Union.
The final stage involved a fourth roundtable discussion featuring representatives from civil society organizations, women-led groups, and international agencies. Participants addressed various forms of gender-based violence, institutional response measures, and the legal and institutional gaps that hinder the protection of women.
Bahia Al-Saqqaf, President of the PASS Foundation, stated that the project was based on an Oxfam study investigating government institutional weaknesses regarding gender-based violence. The findings and recommendations from the four roundtable sessions will be compiled and submitted to relevant government authorities to support legal reforms and improve protection mechanisms.
