Passaglia brothers announce 2027 presidential bid in Argentina

Manuel and Santiago Passaglia have announced their intention to compete in Argentina’s 2027 presidential elections under their own political party, Hechos. While it remains undecided which brother will serve as the primary candidate, the project features both Manuel, a provincial deputy, and Santiago, the mayor of San Nicolás de los Arroyos.

In a social media video, the brothers positioned themselves against the current political polarization, stating they aim to stand “enfrente” (in front of) both the La Libertad Avanza administration of President Javier Milei and the Kirchnerism movement. They criticized the economic management of President Milei and Economy Minister Luis Caputo, describing the government’s austerity measures as “cruel” regarding wages.

The Hechos party plans to expand its management model beyond San Nicolás, where they have held leadership since 2011. The group announced plans to field candidates for governor of the Buenos Aires province and for various municipal mayoralties. Additionally, they confirmed they will not seek reelection for the San Nicolás mayoralty.
