Passenger dies during Copa Airlines flight from Panama to Mendoza

A 73-year-old passenger died during a Copa Airlines flight traveling from Panama to Mendoza, Argentina. The individual suffered a medical emergency while the aircraft was flying over the Pacific Ocean, a few hours after takeoff.

Medical professionals among the passengers attempted to assist the man using cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but they were unable to revive him. During the emergency, the crew considered diverting the flight to land in Colombia for urgent medical attention, but ultimately decided to continue to the original destination.

The aircraft landed at El Plumerillo Airport at 1:25. Following the landing, the Las Heras Fiscal Office and scientific police arrived to conduct investigations and procedures before the body was moved to the morgue. The Forensic Medical Corps will be responsible for determining the exact cause of death.
