Passenger dies during Southwest Airlines flight to LAX
A passenger died following a medical emergency aboard Southwest Airlines Flight 958, which was traveling from Dallas to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
During the flight, the individual suffered a medical episode and became unresponsive. Crew members and other passengers attempted to save the person by performing CPR while the plane was in transit. Although emergency responders were waiting on the tarmac at LAX, paramedics were unable to revive the passenger, and firefighters pronounced the individual dead at the scene.
Southwest Airlines confirmed a "medical incident involving a customer" occurred, but the cause of the emergency and the identity of the victim have not yet been released.
