Passo del Lupo tunnel to receive 13 million euros for safety works

Approximately 13 million euros have been allocated for safety interventions on the Passo del Lupo tunnel, a critical connection between the regions of Puglia, Campania, and Molise. Regional councilor Antonio Tutolo announced that discussions will soon begin at the Prefecture in Foggia between Anas and local mayors to determine how the works will be executed.

The planned technical interventions include installing steel ribs and applying concrete protection to consolidate the structure and ensure driver safety. Tutolo has advocated for a single, continuous total closure of the tunnel to allow for 24-hour construction, arguing that this would be more efficient than the intermittent closures and staggered construction phases experienced in recent years.
