Passo house fire suspected to be caused by electrical short circuit

A residential house in Passo, Maluku, caught fire on Tuesday afternoon, August 11, 2026. The building was located adjacent to the Arbes Brimob Dormitory.

The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. No casualties were reported during the incident. The Ambon Fire and Rescue Service deployed 21 personnel and three fire engines to the scene. Responding within five minutes of the report, crews managed to extinguish the flames in approximately 90 minutes, declaring the area safe by 18:30 WIT.
