Passwork releases version 7.7 with secure offline mode for desktop and mobile

Passwork, a self‑hosted password and secrets‑management platform, announced the launch of Passwork 7.7. The update adds a secure offline mode for both desktop and mobile applications, letting users view previously synchronized password entries without an active server connection. Offline entries are read‑only; creating, editing or deleting still requires connectivity.

Administrators can set role‑based permissions, limit the number of entries cached on a device, and define how long cached data is retained. The release also introduces a comprehensive audit log that records every offline download and subsequent action once the device reconnects, helping organisations meet compliance requirements such as the EU NIS2 directive. CEO Alex Muntyan said the offline feature was one of the most requested enhancements from customers.

The new capabilities aim to improve productivity for distributed teams and field staff while maintaining strict security controls.
