PASTEF youth leaders resign in Keur Massar to support President Faye

Several key leaders from the Youth Patriotic of Senegal (JPS), the youth wing of the PASTEF party, have resigned in the Keur Massar region. The departures include Abdoul Aziz Sow, former coordinator of JPS Keur Massar North; Cheikh Gning, former coordinator of JPS Malika and departmental vice-coordinator; and Modou Mar, former communications officer for the departmental JPS.

The officials cited a desire to continue their political engagement directly supporting President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Modou Mar specifically announced his move to KIRAAY – Les Patriotes Républicains, a new political formation launched by the President.

These resignations follow a political rift between President Faye and Ousmane Sonko, the President of the National Assembly. The movement of these cadres reflects a broader realignment within the local political landscape as members transition from PASTEF toward the President’s new political direction.
