Pasticceria Filippi achieves B Corp V2 and Halal certifications
Pasticceria Filippi has successfully passed the audit for the new B Corp V2 Standards introduced by B Lab. This updated certification model is more rigorous, replacing a general score with specific requirements across various impact areas, including governance, labor, human rights, environment, and community. The company noted that the new standards require more structured planning and measurable verification of their sustainability efforts.
In a strategic commercial move, the company has also become the first Italian firm to obtain the ‘Halal Italia’ certification for its panettone. By removing alcohol used for hydrating raisins and as a preservative, the company aims to export its products to Gulf markets, such as Dubai and Riyadh. This certification follows a broader trend in the food industry, with companies like Irca Group also certifying products to access international markets.
