Pasto authorities complete characterization of informal vendors
The Mayor's Office of Pasto, through its Administrative Directorate of Public Space, has completed the characterization process for informal vendors located in the city's central area between Carrera 20-23 and Calle 15-16. This action complies with Sentence No. 070 of December 19, 2025.
The process identified 140 informal vendors to move into a new phase managed by the Secretariat of Economic Development. This upcoming stage will evaluate options for relocation, labor reconversion, and access to institutional support. The goal is to gradually recover and organize public space while providing socioeconomic alternatives for those identified.
Administrative Director of Public Space, Carlos Salamanca, stated that the characterization utilized 105 variables per vendor to ensure a transparent and objective process based on technical criteria and vulnerability. This approach aligns with Constitutional Court guidelines regarding the protection of informal vendors' rights.
