Pasto City Council Extends Property Tax Early‑Payment Discount to 2026

The Pasto Municipal Council approved in a second debate a project extending the early‑payment discount for the municipal property tax (Impuesto Predial) until 31 August 2026, allowing a 10 % discount for payments made by that date. The measure responds to difficulties in cadastral valuation by the IGAC affecting more than 130 000 properties. The finance secretary said the IGAC database with adjusted valuations has been received and new tax bills will be issued by 15 August.

Councilor José Félix Solarte said the extension was necessary due to the valuation issues and urged taxpayers to take advantage of the discount. The council also approved a budget addition of roughly 23 billion Colombian pesos for investments in education, infrastructure, market plazas, senior services, public spaces, minimum living standards, environment and sport, presented by councilor Mauricio Torres Silva, with a commitment to strict oversight of the funds.
