In Indonesia, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the coast of Flores Island, resulting in at least 68 deaths and over 200 injuries. Approximately 12,800 people have been displaced, many of whom are sleeping in makeshift camps or outdoors due to fears of ongoing seismic activity, including nearly 1,600 aftershocks. Residents in areas like Mbay have reported difficulties accessing essential supplies such as food, water, and medicine.
In Colombia, a powerful earthquake has left a devastating toll, with reports indicating nearly 300 deaths and over 3,000 injured. The disaster has destroyed or damaged tens of thousands of homes. Humanitarian efforts are underway, with large shipments of food, water, and medical supplies being sent to affected regions like Chocó and Valle del Cauca. International aid from Chile and technical support from the United States are also contributing to the relief and damage assessment operations.
