Pasto Health Secretariat launches mental health and suicide prevention initiative

The Pasto Health Secretariat has joined the ‘Código Dorado: Colombia cuida la vida en comunidad’ campaign to promote mental health care and suicide prevention. The initiative was launched in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day.

Led by Daniana de la Cruz, the campaign encourages citizens to strengthen support networks and solidarity within families, neighborhoods, and rural areas. The Secretariat emphasized the importance of active listening, empathy, and timely conversations to identify risk factors. Officials urged the community to remain vigilant regarding warning signs and reminded the public that seeking help is a vital step toward emotional well-being.
