Pasto hosts peace-building initiatives through music and community support
In Pasto, Colombia, various initiatives are being held to promote peace and social coexistence. During the 'Mes por la Paz' (Month for Peace), the local Peace Commission recognized Rocío Granja for her community work. Her association has provided support to more than 200 families affected by the armed conflict, offering psychosocial care and promoting entrepreneurship and productivity to improve living conditions.
Additionally, the IV Peace Bands Encounter was held, organized by the Mayor's Office of Pasto in collaboration with the Nariño Governorate and the National Army. The event featured more than 3,000 students from 50 musical bands representing over 43 educational institutions. The gathering aimed to showcase musical training and artistic processes as tools for education and social transformation.
