Pasto municipality administers 958 vaccine doses in third national vaccination day

On August 3, 2026, the municipal health secretariat in Pasto, Colombia, carried out the third National Vaccination Day, delivering 958 vaccine doses. The effort involved 23 health service providers operating at 25 extramural sites, supported by 55 external and 27 internal vaccinators.

The most administered vaccines were 617 doses of influenza and 98 doses of yellow fever, alongside HPV, measles‑rubella, tetanus, and respiratory syncytial virus vaccines for pregnant women. The campaign also helped recover childhood immunization schedules, providing polio, pentavalent, pneumococcal, triple viral, varicella, rotavirus, BCG and hepatitis B vaccines.

Health Secretary Daniana de la Cruz highlighted the coordinated work of the municipal administration, health institutions and the community, noting the importance of vaccination for protecting vulnerable populations. Immunization program coordinator Andrea Ortega Salazar praised citizen participation and the joint effort of local health providers in expanding access to free vaccination services. No COVID‑19 vaccines were administered due to a shortage of the product.
