Pasto seniors engage in digital literacy programs
The Comfamiliar Nariño Public Library in Pasto is hosting programs to help older adults improve their digital literacy and social connections. Through the ‘Club de Adultos Digitales’ (Digital Adults Club), participants receive guidance to overcome fears and insecurities regarding new technological tools.
Developed through partnerships with Fundación Telefónica, ProFuturo, and Proinco, the initiative utilizes digital literacy platforms and courses such as ‘Escuela TIC Familia’. Beyond basic device operation, the sessions cover digital security, leadership, and entrepreneurship to assist with daily tasks and small productive ventures.
In addition to technical skills, the program has fostered significant social benefits, with participants seeking more opportunities to meet, share neighborhood histories, and build new community bonds.
