Pastor Emmanuel Iren claims 50% of churchgoers view pornography bi-weekly

Pastor Emmanuel Iren has claimed that 50% of churchgoers view pornography at least once every two weeks. Speaking during the Ownership Conference 2026, Iren addressed the rise of immoral behavior, attributing much of the increase to the anonymity provided by the internet.

Iren argued that the internet allows individuals to engage in private behaviors without the social pressure or awareness of being watched that typically discourages such actions. He suggested that secrecy is a primary factor in the persistence of these habits, stating, “Secrecy has given sin its power.”

To illustrate his point, the pastor described a hypothetical scenario where the only screen in Johannesburg was located inside a church, suggesting that the lack of privacy would cause individuals to stop such behavior immediately. He concluded by emphasizing the necessity of accountability for those struggling with personal vices.
