Pastor Hills Emmanuel killed after abduction in Plateau State

Pastor Hills Emmanuel, a Ghanaian-Nigerian cleric and founder of The Wonderful Grace of God Evangelical Ministry, was found dead after being abducted by gunmen in Plateau State, Nigeria. The incident occurred on the Barkin Ladi-Bokkos road while Emmanuel was traveling from Jos to Bokkos in a commercial minivan.

Gunmen reportedly set up an impromptu roadblock within a mile of military checkpoints to intercept the vehicle. The attackers forcibly removed Emmanuel and another cleric, Pastor Gabriel Joseph Dipak of the Christ Apostolic Church, before stripping the remaining passengers of cash and mobile phones. While Emmanuel’s body was recovered near the site the following morning, the whereabouts of Pastor Dipak remained unconfirmed, with reports indicating he may still be held by the abductors.

The killing was part of a broader wave of violence across the region. Separate attacks in the Riyom, Barkin Ladi, and Mangu local government areas reportedly resulted in at least four additional deaths and one injury. The Plateau State Police Command had not officially confirmed the full extent of the incidents at the time of reporting.
