Pasuruan Police Reassign Investigators During Probe of Online Gambling Suspect Death

Polres Pasuruan transferred three investigators from Polsek Beji and placed them on non‑job status to facilitate an internal investigation of alleged assault on an online‑gambling suspect who died after being captured in the Beji sub‑district.

The Propam unit examined five Beji police personnel – the station chief Kompol Sukianto, crime‑unit chief Ipda S Bindar Manurung, three other investigators and Briptu Dandung, who secured the suspect and was put on non‑job status. Police officials said the measures are administrative, not final sanctions, intended to allow an objective, professional and transparent inquiry; any disciplinary or criminal violations will be dealt with according to police regulations. They asked the public to respect the process.
