ESPN announces multiple alternate broadcasts for Super Bowl LXI

ESPN has announced a diverse lineup of alternate broadcasts for Super Bowl LXI, scheduled for February 14, 2027. A major highlight is the expansion of Pat McAfee’s ‘Field Pass’ format to the NFL. This broadcast style features commentators stationed near the field rather than in a traditional booth to provide live reactions and unpredictable commentary. McAfee’s crew will begin NFL coverage with select Monday Night Football games during the 2026 season, starting with the Washington Commanders at the San Francisco 49ers on October 19.

In addition to the Field Pass, ESPN will offer several other viewing options for the championship game:

• The ‘ManningCast’ featuring Peyton and Eli Manning will air on ESPN2. • A traditional broadcast led by Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be available on ESPN and ABC. • A Next Gen Stats broadcast, utilizing predictive analysis and real-time player tracking data, will air on the NFL Network. • Spanish-language coverage will be provided by ESPN Deportes and Disney+, with an additional broadcast from TelevisaUnivision.

The Next Gen Stats presentation will also be featured during the regular season as a complement to Monday Night Football.
