Patagonia tourism hubs offer skiing and nature retreats

Patagonia offers diverse winter and travel experiences across Argentina and Chile. In the Neuquén province of Argentina, the villages of Caviahue and Copahue serve as winter retreats within the Copahue Provincial Park. Caviahue, known as the ‘Pueblo Nieve’, features a ski center with 22 slopes and 13 lifts, situated near prehistoric araucaria forests and Lake Caviahue. Nearby, Copahue provides thermal baths that remain active even when the landscape is covered in snow.

In Chilean Patagonia, Puerto Natales serves as a primary gateway to Torres del Paine National Park. Located on the shores of Seno Última Esperanza, the town is a hub for tourism services, including equipment rentals and guided excursions. Beyond its logistical importance, the area is noted for its local gastronomy, such as Patagonian lamb, and its scenic fjord waterfront.
