Patagonia university sports events announced for September

University sports competitions are set to take place in the Patagonia region of Argentina this September.

In Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut Deportes and the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco (UNPSJB) have signed a collaboration agreement for the Juegos Intersedes. Scheduled for September 21 to 24, the event expects approximately 600 students from various university campuses, including Trelew, Puerto Madryn, and Esquel. The agreement includes government-provided transportation for delegations to facilitate participation. Competitions will feature disciplines such as football, futsal, handball, volleyball, hockey, basketball, chess, and tennis.

Separately, Puerto Madryn will host the fifth edition of the Juegos Universitarios de Playa Patagónicos on September 26 and 27. Organized by the local Subsecretaría de Deportes in collaboration with the Federación del Deporte Universitario Argentino (FeDUA), the event will include beach football, basketball, handball, beach volleyball, and nautical sports. Puerto Madryn has also become the first municipality to officially join FeDUA’s ‘Doble Carrera’ program, which aims to support student-athletes in balancing academic studies with high-performance sports.
