Paternò opens voting for participatory democracy projects

The municipality of Paternò has launched online voting for its Participatory Democracy 2026 initiative, allowing residents to select local projects for funding. Following a technical suspension of the digital platform, voting has resumed and will remain open until October 12 or October 21, 2026, depending on the specific administrative cycle referenced.

Citizens aged 16 and older can cast their votes using SPID or CIE credentials via the dedicated digital platform, or in person at the municipal public relations office (URP). The winning project will receive approximately 200,000 euros in funding, which will be allocated through a public tender process.

The competing proposals include initiatives for community mobility and disability services, the preservation of the 'Opera dei Pupi' cultural tradition, musical and cultural events at the Paternò Castle, and an exhibition dedicated to the artistic relationship between Ciccio Busacca, Dario Fo, and Franca Rame.
