Paternò: 27-year-old arrested with illegal knife after threatening his nephews

Carabinieri from the Paternò station responded to a 112 emergency call reporting a man repeatedly appearing at his brother’s home and demanding to see his nephews. The 27‑year‑old was found in possession of a roncola – a knife with a 23 cm blade and a 13 cm handle – concealed in his trousers. He was arrested on charges of stalking (atti persecutori) and illegal possession of a weapon or objects capable of causing injury. The weapon was seized, and the suspect was transferred to the Casa Circondariale di Piazza Lanza in Catania, where he remains under judicial custody pending trial.

The swift police action prevented any escalation of the threat, and the investigation continues under the presumption of innocence until a final judgment is reached.
