Paterna begins Fiestas Mayores with traditional ceremonies and safety campaigns

The city of Paterna has commenced its Fiestas Mayores, marked by the official proclamation by Leticia Sabater and the raising of the Moorish and Christian flags. The festivities include various cultural events such as the LXII Floral Games, a paella night, and musical performances. A major highlight of the ten-day celebration is the parade of Moors and Christians, a designated event of Regional Tourist Interest.

In conjunction with the celebrations, the Paterna City Council has launched the ‘Creua mirades, no límits’ campaign through the Department of Equality. This initiative aims to promote respect and prevent sexist behavior during the festivities. The campaign involves local groups and includes the distribution of awareness materials, such as bracelets to combat chemical submission and reusable cups. Additionally, ‘Puntos Violeta’ (Violet Points) will be established during concert weeks to provide information and support regarding potential aggression or violence.
